Vegatrian/Vegan Potjiekos recipe

Yesterday I decided to take a bash at my first vegatarian/vegan potjie recipe. Firstly if you don’t know potjiekos (seeĀ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potjiekos). Essentially this is a Dutch oven cooked on the fire, and typically the food has a African taste.

The recipe I concocted was basically what I grabbed very rapidly to hand while trying to keep my mind on the final taste of the pot, taking some inspiration from a few recipes I had cruised earlier in the day. It seemed to go down well with all parties.

Dolce Vita

Strolling to work this morning I considered the local coffee shops along the way to the office in London’s banking sector. The franchises of Starbucks, Presta, Costa, Taylor St Barista’s and Paul that abound here in the UK. In fact sometimes I think it is sometimes difficult to take two steps without stumbling over one. They are of course an mostly American chain groups and all seem to certainly share a similar model, acceptable coffee on the move.

Barn Owl

The turn in the weather for the better recently and the advent of early sunlight means I have been able to get out early in the mornings and beat life a bit once again. As was the case yesterday when the family devised plans for Sunday, without taking into account my hopes or plans to hit some cycle training with sun on skinĀ (it transpired that the sun was in short supply anyway).
